YOUR telegram No. 90 of 30th May: Opium.
Peking, June 14, 1911.
In reply to Chinese circular on the subject, Ministers of the United States, Netherlands, Russia, Italy, and Cuba stated that none of their nationals traded in opium.
Spain expressed her adhesion. France and Mexico stated that the matter was under consideration, while Japanese Minister merely acknowledged receipt of new agreement.
The other Powers have not yet replied, but the Chinese Government seem confident of obtaining consent of all before 7th July.
